Steven was born in Queens, New York. His mother, Fran, was a nightclub singer, and his father, Stuart Weber, was a nightclub performer and manager of Borscht Belt comedians. Weber graduated from Manhattan's High School of Performing Arts (1979) and attended the State University of New York (SUNY) at Purchase.
As early as third grade, Steven was appearing in television commercials. After leaving college, while working various jobs, he joined the Mirror Repertory Company. There he worked with the legendary actress Geraldine Page on several productions, before appearing on the television soaps As The World Turns and Guiding Light.
In 1990, Steven landed the starring role of the loveable Brian Hackett on the NBC series Wings. The rest, as they say, is history. Since then, he has appeared in numerous tv, movie, and theater roles, in every genre imaginable. He continues to stay busy and in demand.
Steven is divorced, and has two children. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
